The island of Murter is the largest and closest to the mainland island in the Šibenik area, separated from the mainland by the narrow Murter Channel, over which a 12-meter-long drawbridge was built in Tisno.
The old bridge in Tisno, which connects the island of Murter with the mainland, was built at the beginning of the 18th century, and in 1968, it was replaced by a drawbridge, which has been renovated several times to this day. It is the only connection between the island of Murter and the mainland. In the past, the bridge was opened by moving to the side, on a manual drive. The depth under the bridge is 2.4 m. The height to the bridge arch is 2 m.
The drawbridge is open every day during the tourist season from 9.00 to 9.30 and from 17.00 to 17.30.
